Mercedes littlest SUV is on the way, if these spy shots are to be believed. Captured here is the upcoming GLA. It’s build on a the same platform that both the A-Class, and the B-Class are. So there’s a good chance it’ll be offered with the same engine configurations as it’s more compact platform mates. That includes a 1.8L, 200hp four-banger, that’ll drive the front wheels. AWD and a dual-clutch seven speed tranny will also be available.

Moore that likely, if this car does well, Mercedes will persist with an AMG version. We’d bet that model would be carrying the same turbo 2L four cylinder that the A45 and CLA45 AMG will be getting. I’d also be willing to bet that, like those two, the US won’t be getting that engine yet. We wish it did.  It’s supposed to be a 330hp mill, which would do quite well in the compact SUV segment. Or at least, it should.
