7 Things to Know About the New MB Sprinter Worker Van

There’s been a lot of buzz around this one — and rightfully so.

The idea of Mercedes-Benz rolling out an affordable commercial van is big news. That said, we’e pulled seven key things to know about Mercedes’ new Sprinter Worker van, which is currently debuting at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, as highlighted in a PickUpTrucks report.

1. The new Sprinter Worker trim level will have a starting price of $33,490.

2. Powered by a 2.1-liter inline four-cylinder Bluetec turbo-diesel engine, the output on the MB Worker van is 161 horsepower and 266 pounds-feet of torque.

3. The Sprinter Worker van is equipped with a seven-speed 7G-Tronic transmission with paddle shifters.

4. The base Worker model will come in a 144-inch wheelbase configuration with the standard roof height.

5. In addition to the base trim level, the MB Sprinter workhorse will also be offered in 2500 and 3500 chassis configurations with available 4×4 capabilities.

6. Standard features on the Sprinter Worker van include Bluetooth connectivity, crosswind assist, six front airbags, a four-speaker AM/FM radio, load-adaptive traction control, power windows, air conditioning, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, adjustable armrests, and five cup-holders.

7. The maximum payload for the MB Sprinter van is 3,512 pounds with a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
