AMG News! GLC63 Gets Green Light, E63 Gets “Drift Mode”

GLC63 1

The guys at AMG get their hands on all the good stuff, and this time, it’s in the form of the GLC. Formerly called the GLK (which never saw an AMG version, for better or worse), the new W205-based GLC will see the turbo V8 motor that’s found residence under a few AMGs already. In two forms — a standard, and an “S” version — the GLC63 AMG will be sure to completely change what you think of the performance crossover segment. Which doesn’t really have too much competition. So is AMG answering a question no one is asking?

On the other hand, the E63 AMG receives a non-sensible upgrade that some may have asked for in the form of a “drift mode.” AMG has to be one of the only companies around who has things purpose built strictly to be used for non-sense. A drift mode is completely impractical, and some might even stretch to say dangerous, but who cares? To anyone who cried foul at the E63 turning into an AWD vehicle, now you can wag your tail when you want, and reign it in when stuff starts falling from the sky.
