Track Battle: Audi RS4 Avant Versus Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate

Why in the hell did Auto Express make a video that features two station wagons being flogged around a race track? Because the two wagons in questions are the Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate and the Audi RS4 Avant, and there is more than 900 horsepower between them. I mean, seriously, why wouldn’t you beat the new C63 Estate on a track if you had a chance? If you say no, we can’t be friends anymore.

But on to the video. Like all of the tack battle videos from Auto Express, we have both cars on the track, and each one is looked at in details and given a few warm-up laps before going full out for a timed lap. In typical British fashion, the weather is a bit damp and unpredictable, so the RWD C63 struggles a bit. The Audi on the other hand, with its Quattro AWD, makes quick work of the damp sections of the track. At the end, the Audi nudges ahead of the Mercedes with a quicker time. Don’t let that discourage you though, fans of the three-pointed star; when the track dries out, the Mercedes is actually quicker, but sadly there is no footage of that.

So yes, our beloved new Mercedes may have technically lost, but we all know who the real winner would have been. Plus, they only had the base C63 for this test, and not the faster and more powerful S version. In the real world, the Audi stands no chance.
