Auto Express Pits AMG GT Against Porsche 911 GTS
The new AMG GT is definitely a departure for the AMG brand as a whole. It’s the Mercedes inhouse tuner’s first ever go at a fully fledged standalone car. Meaning it has absolutely nothing to do, besides the engine, with any other Mercedes in the lineup at the moment. It’s a giant leap forward, but is it the Porsche killer AMG wants it to be?
In this week’s track battle from Auto Express, the guys across the pond take the AMG GT to the track to answer this very question. They do so by putting it up against the Porsche 911 GTS. While, I’m not sure if the Porsche 911 GTS is the right car to put the AMG GT up against, it does well to serve as a place holder until the AMG GT can be tested to its full potential. And by that I mean the Porsche 911 Turbo.
So watch as Auto Express destroys some tires and goes head to head between the AMG GT and the 911 GTS. Enjoy.
