Would You Do a High-Speed Banked Turn With a G63?
I’m continually amazed by how much you can get out of the three-ton G63 SUV. Whether it’s drifting the truck like it’s from Formula D, or trouncing the deserts of Abu Dhabi like a trophy truck, Benzo’s beast continues to exceed every and all expectations.
This newest accomplishment is flat-out staggering. Seriously, I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen the video below.
Here is a group of G63’s running a test track in Stuttgart, which is nothing new. However, the test engineers decided to send the beasts around the track’s high-speed banked corner. Something that’s difficult for most normal cars to do, let alone having to deal with the G63’s high center of gravity.
However, the G63’s hardly look tested. You can hear that the drivers are hustling them, by the sound of the engines, but it doesn’t look like they are really dealing with actual physics. Did Mercedes invent some sort of anti-gravity device and never told anyone about it? This seems to prove that theory.
