When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in London, do as the Arabs do, especially where supercars are concerned. Ever since the Qatari royal family purchased London department store Harrods from Egyptian-born businessman Mohamed Al Fayed in 2010, the neighborhoods of Knightsbridge and Chelsea have seen a growing influx of the world’s rarest supercars that are owned and operated by “young Arab playboy” multi-millionaires seeking an escape from the oppressive heat of their desert states during the summer months.

It has become a car spotter’s dream. A number of YouTube channels have chronicled the majestic motoring madness of Bugattis, Ferraris, Koenigseggs, Lamborghinis, and Paganis galore in what becomes, for a season at least, the de-facto exotic car capital of the world.

While these powerful cars may have been designed for the open road and racetracks, flamboyant custom paint and outrageous wrap jobs allow their owners to one-up each other’s peacock pageantry with flying colors — literally, too, as the bold and the beautiful rev their tuned engines and race through narrow streets knowing the world is watching.

You can’t buy advertising like this, so it made perfect sense for Brabus to parade through this automotive mecca in a fierce float on the occasion of the opening of their new London flagship store which was duly inaugurated last month.

After taking the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 through a brilliant series of luxury and performance upgrades to arrive at B63S-700 6×6 specifications, the cherry on top appeared to be a glossy black-block section from their new Park Lane edifice, positioned upright on the back of the truck to complete the monumental affair.

With a combination of styles spanning that of Teutonic military armor, British Perpendicular, and sheer Brutalism, this marketing tour of duty had all the pomp and ceremony befitting a new London automotive landmark. If and when Brabus announces a V12 version of the 6×6 Goliath, brace yourselves.
