A Tale of Two C300 Track Times: Stock vs Tuned

The new C300 has only been in showrooms for a few months, but people are already getting their hands dirty figuring out ways to un-cork the base model’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The already potent 241 horsepower engine apparently has a few hidden secrets, as the video below clearly demonstrates. It stars a stock C300 doing a baseline pass, followed by another pass from the same car with a tune from David Dimitrion.

Though we aren’t too sure on the actual difference in power numbers, a run down the strip does plenty to show how much of an increase is gained by the tune. The first bare-bones stock run was a 14.95 at 92.21 mph, whereas the second run with the tune (same night, same conditions, same lane) resulted in a drop of well over a second on time, and about 6 mph faster as it completed its run. 13.76 at 99.1 mph is a pretty significant bump from stock, so we can’t wait to see what it will be putting down on the dyno. As an added bonus, an increase in MPG was also seen (probably during the parts where it was not on the strip).
