C63 Immolates its Tires
As we’re inching ever closer to July 4th, let’s take a moment to recall a rabble-rousing quote from Independence Day: “Lets kick the tires and light the fires, big daddy!” Yeah, it’s a great quote, but usually you want those two to be separate. You definitely don’t want to kick the tires and then have them spontaneously combust. That would be bad, as the video below metaphorically shows.
Here we have a Mercedes C63 ripping a massive burnout at some local meetup. The C63 is absolutely slaying its tires, and just pouring smoke out of the rear end. The crowd and drivers are going nuts, and getting everyone pumped. Then all hell breaks loose when fire erupts from the tires. The crowd, as you can imagine, absolutely flips out.
Sure a normal burnout is cool and all, and the noise coming from the lovely 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 is something sent from heaven, but add fire to the mix and you’ve got the potential for a disaster. And most likely a great story, at least if you’re not the owner of the C63.
