Is the C63 S AMG Finally a Real M3 Fighter?

The BMW M3 has been at the top of the performance sedan heap for nearly three decades. The combination of brilliant steering, insane performance, and the ability to carry more than a bag of groceries has continually made it one of the best performance bargains in the world. However, being at the top can get lonely sometimes. And being so good has attracted heavier and heavier competition. Which is exactly what happened with the all-new Cadillac ATS-V and the Mercedes C63 S AMG.

While the ATS-V is a wholly new car, the Mercedes C63 S is really the second generation, and if we’re being honest, the first one wasn’t so much of a BMW M3 competitor as it was a Ken Block tire-slayer competitor. However, on this week’s “Head 2 Head,” MotorTrend‘s Jonny Lieberman puts the C63 S AMG, the Cadillac ATS-V, and the BMW M3 up against each other to see where the chips fall.
