The C63 S is an Absolute Work of Art, but the Competition for Car of the Year is Stacked

EVO magazine, one of the leading producers of quality automotive content in the world, just finished its annual car of the year competition. The COTY test is notorious for combining the best driver’s cars around with perfect driving roads and stunning scenery to match. The video below is pretty much an ideal way to kill 25 minutes.

For 2016, the deck was truly stacked with supercar juggernauts, like the Audi R8 V10 Plus, Lamborghini Huracán, Porsche 911 R, BMW M4 GTS, and more. In total, 12 cars competed for the title, including the beloved Mercedes-AMG C63 S.

The C63 S Coupe is an absolute work of art. Working with AMG’s latest hand-made powerhouse, the twin-turbocharged 4.0 V8 — the same engine found in the AMG GT-S — the C63 S is tuned to make 503 horsepower.

Unfortunately, this time around it was the Porsche 911 R that EVO ultimately named the victor. Although several of the journalists praised the C63 S for its impressive driving ability and comfort when carving up windy roads.

I highly recommend watching the video in its entirety, but if you’re short on time, the Benz makes its appearance at 16:35. Enjoy!
