Next time you see an SLR at rest, think about all the work it took to get it into a state of stillness because I’m willing to bet this car’s natural state is somewhere north of 200 mph.
If the 600 Grosser limousine is the “Most Mercedes” Mercedes, what would be its runner-up? It would be this: the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe (W196).
Isn’t the future great? The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster was produced from 2003 to 2010, and despite its design being more than a decade old, it still looks like a concept car you’d wish they had built. Thankfully, Mercedes produced more than 2,000 of these beauties.
It’s fitting that the man in the clip below is called Shmee. That’s probably the sound he made when he first put the hammer down in the Gemballa-modified Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
