CLA Spotted Undisguised!

I guess that’s what we expected and Mercedes really has followed through in that regard. Even the front bumper is reminiscent of the 2012 CLS, complete with gaping scoops at the corner of it’s front bumper. I think it’s lost a little bit of elegance from the being shortened so much, but it’s still an attractive package if you’re into the four-door coupe shape.

Photographers spotted the car in Iceland. Presumably, it was running around without camouflage for photography purposes any way. If the rumors are correct, the car was supposed to be premiered at the Detroit auto show later this year, but that might change now that the CLA has been exposed to the world. Time will tell.

If you’re looking for a  (better looking) front-wheel-drive alternative to BMW’s 1 series or Audi’s A1, the CLA might be your ticket. Likely it’ll come with the same engine options as the 2012 A-class. That includes a 1.6L variant, a more powerful 2L variant, and for those lucky bastards living in Europe, a 350hp A45 AMG model. We don’t know why they won’t bring that particular model to the states, but I’m betting they’re going to test teh waters with the cheaper, slower models before going in guns blazing.
