Confirmed: Mercedes-Benz Working on BMW X6 Competitor
Mercedes-Benz brass has confirmed to Car and Driver that they will be introducing a new crossover based on the ML-Class that will compete with the BMW X6. Your guess is as good as ours regarding what they would call this thing, but “MLC” is a good start at name speculation. For many, cars like the BMW X6 and Acura ZDX are an acquired taste that very few want to acquire. Judging from the comments on Car and Driver, news that Mercedes is planning a car like this is really pissing people off.
With the way people are reacting, you’d think Mercedes was repurposing an FB Mazda RX-7 like the one below.
The “MLC” should offer the same engines found in the ML-Class. An AMG model is expected as well. Pricing would start around $60,000.
Don’t get too mad that Mercedes-Benz is moving forward with the “MLC”. The profit margins on this Mercedes mishmash will be huge, and will help finance good stuff like the SLS AMG successor.
