DIME Racing AMG GT: The Factory-Warrantied Racer You’ve Always Wanted!
DIME Racing has announced the launch of its new program to sell turnkey, street-legal, “race cars” for the road through Mercedes-Benz dealerships.
While DIME Racing doesn’t actually refer to their highly-modified Mercedes-Benz AMG GT as an actual race car, it’s fair to say that the Southern California-based AMG racing and performance specialists don’t necessarily build these to go grocery shopping. After all, DIME Performance’s spokesperson is ex-Formula One driver Stefan Johansson, and the company has abundant experience in the Pirelli World Challenge series with their race-winning Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3.
Based off the 2017 AMG GT, the DIME Racing Edition AMG GT will feature an exclusively-designed and engineered suspension, aero package, wheels, and cooling package to keep up with the upgraded engine that produces 745 horsepower. Production numbers will be limited to 100 units per year and the first DIME Racing Editions have already been reserved. Each vehicle will be cataloged and serialized with its own unique DIME Racing VIN, to ensure collectability and authenticity. The opportunity to be one of the few owners is limited to a first come, first serve basis.
So you may be wondering, how much dinero does one have to shell out for one of these bad boys? Considering the many benefits — such as a bumper-to-bumper warranty and buying directly from a Mercedes-Benz dealership — $150,000 bucks isn’t bad at all!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to call my Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series-owning friend, and tell him I’ve finally found him a worthy replacement!
