AMG GT-R Is Set to Be Faster Than SLS Black Series
If you’ve been waiting for a “Black” series of the AMG GT to break cover, it seems like it is closer than ever. Likely to be named the AMG GT-R, this one has its sights set much higher than the impressive, albeit silly, SLS Black. The AMG GT-R goes one step further and looks to compete with the 911 GT3 RS. And that’s an incredibly bold move. Altogether, the GT-R is set to move AMG in a direction that will tie them with the most respected German performance cars.
Nipping at the heels of Porsche, AMG claims the GT-R would be equal to, if not embarrass the GT3 RS, which is Porsche’s more focused version of the most focused version of the most potent 911 ever. This step by AMG will alarm other manufacturers too, because setting a target that high would easily eclipse anything that BMW’s M division has to offer at the moment. Ah, performance wars. We are in the midst of them right now between German manufacturers and it feels wonderful. Do you think AMG has what it takes to knock Porsche off the top?
