Help a Hit and Run Victim Identify This Jerkface

Getting hit sucks. Getting hit by a selfish jerk who doesn’t have the decency to stop is even worse. But it happened to MB World member mthis while he was driving in New York.

As you can see in the videos below, it looks like as mthis was stopped, the guy in the Ford Escape had his head down or was looking at his phone (POKE?!) and ran straight into the rear of the car. Instead of pulling over, the distracted driver took a quick turn and darted off.

mthis has cameras for instances exactly like this, but unfortunately the footage isn’t the best:

According to OP, he “was very happy that day and i had cops in front of me so i figured not to chase and go to the cop but guess what. They were no help.” Apparently the diffuser and rear bumper cover took the brunt of the damage, but there wasn’t an imprint from the license plate.
