Earlier in the week, we got to see some pretty leaked pictures of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class. CarScoops took a good look at the pics, and then they used just a little imagination and some excellent Photoshopping skills to give us this rendering of the AMG E63 variant.

According to CarScoops:

This rendering is almost entirely what we’re expecting to see once Mercedes decides it’s time for us to admire their newest super-fast saloon, and even though it looks a lot like its two siblings, it does sort of come with its own personality once you thoroughly analyze its dimensions.

I’ve been analyzing, and I’ve gotta admit, their confidence gives me confidence too.

Regardless of the car’s final look, let’s focus on what we do know. As per Mercedes-AMG’s current naming scheme, the E63 will simply be the high performance E-Class. Except nothing about it is simple. The car will be lighter than the previous generation E63 AMG, which, if properly endowed, can weigh close to 4,500 pounds. The weight loss will come thanks in no small part to the new MRA platform currently used in the C-Class and GLC models. The new platform will also allow the 2017 E63 AMG to utilize a variety of autonomous driving tech.

According to Motor Authority, the new E63 will get its substantial power — somewhere in the 550 hp department — from AMG’s new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. And the E63 S will get even more power from the new engine, likely up near 600 hp.

With the new E-Class dropping next week in Detroit, it shouldn’t be long before we know just what we’re in for with the 2017 E63 AMG. So go ahead and render us excited.
