Matt Farah One Takes Expedition Grade Mercedes G-Class
The Mercedes Benz G-Class is one of the most off-road capable vehicles in the world, but just because it comes well-equipped from the factory, that doesn’t mean it’s “expedition-grade.”
The Smoking Tire‘s Matt Farah goes on a “One Take” video adventure with Sergei and Ilya, owners of a 2003 Mercedes-Benz G500, which has been extensively modified to go where stock G-Wagons can’t go, and believe me there is such a place.
Not only has Sergei ventured into harsh and unknown territories, but he has outfitted and modified his G-Wagon with the goal of keeping it stock-looking. Not often to do you meet a Mercedes owner, specially a G-Class owner, that doesn’t want to go all-out and be the talk of the town.
Auxiliary electrical system, three locking differentials, skid plates, double Fox shocks, gun racks, a refrigerator, two GPS systems, and 35-inch BFG Mud-Terrari tires are but some of the modifications done to this mighty capable off-roader. Once again, all of these mods remain nearly invisible, with the exception of the meaty off-road tires.
Cheers, Sergei!
