Maybach E-Class Coming Soon?
We told you a few days ago that Mercedes could be planning further Maybach editions, possibly adding the nameplate to a GLE SUV. Now it’s looking like the three-pointed star could be adding even more lines to the nameplate’s revival.
Speaking at this year’s NAIAS in Detroit, Mercedes North American CEO, Steve Cannon, stated that the Maybach nameplate could be put onto an E-Class in the near future.
I am highly skeptical Mercedes would make such a deal. It’s one thing to put the Maybach name onto the top-of-the-range GLE SUV — it’s another to put it on an E-Class. It just doesn’t follow the extremely upscale moniker Mercedes is looking to build once again with the Maybach nameplate.
It will be interesting to see if Mercedes puts this into production, or if it is just another rumor that turns into vaporware.
