mcchip-dkr Announces 450-Horsepower Tuning Program for Mercedes A45 AMG

Equipped with a 360-horsepower 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine (the most powerful production four-cylinder engine in the world), the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG’s strength will never be called into question. That doesn’t mean the A45 AMG is immune to engineering companies looking to boost it even further. One of those companies is mcchip-dkr.

Their stage-one tune constitutes a simple ECU software upgrade that kicks the hot A-Class up to 400 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque.

Stage two increases horsepower to 420 thanks to upgraded catalytic converters, but torque output remains the same as the stage-one tune.

Opt for stage three, and on top of the stage-one and stage-two improvements, mcchip-dkr upgrades the turbocharger. The stage-three package elevates the A45 AMG to 450 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.

The mcchip-dkr tuning program focuses mostly on the A45’s engine, but the chassis isn’t completely ignored. KW coilovers are also included, along with 19-inch mbDesign KV1 rims wrapped in 235/35 ZR19 Dunlop Sport Maxx rubber.

The stage-one tune is available now for €1,299 ($1,775). Stage two and stage three will be available in February 2014, but pricing for the more advanced stages has yet to be announced.
