Now that’s more like it. Mercedes position as an engine manufacturer means we get to see their name on more than one car. This one though, this is their baby.
I think this car looks leagues better than McLaren’s car. That, I think, is due to the front end looking fairly normal compared to the McLaren’s extended proboscis. Looks won’t matter much on the field though. The design choices that Formula 1 engineers are making are all very much directed by aerodynamics. How they’ll fare when the racing starts has yet to be seen.
Also, unlike many of the other cars racing in F1 this year, we know what the F1 W05 looks like when flying into a wall.
In Lewis Hamilton’s defense, the front wing broke which caused him to lost control of the car. He’s fine, it’s just a setback on the road to the Australian Grand Prix in March. I’m sure they’ll get it sorted in time.
