This Mercedes Ad Confuses Me
Leave it to the Germans to make an ad that is super-weird and has a song that hasn’t been popular since the 80s. I present to you the new ad for the Mercedes Vito. I’ll give you a hint: it has car-on-semi-truck love.
I have no idea who thought this was a good idea, or who actually approved it. I’m betting it was someone with a fetish for seeing cars do it. Anyhow, it got made and it’s super-weird. The title makes it even weirder: “Dirty Driving”. That was obviously taken from Dirty Dancing, the movie from which the song is from, but even at the end they included more scenes entitled “Bondage and Censored”.
I want to say something interesting about the Vito, but I’m still slack-jawed as to what I just watched. It’s going to be like a Ford Transit van? That’s all I got. Why would an S-Class Coupe and a Semi make a Vito? Does the Vito have a twin-turbo V8, or lane-keeping hardware? I’m so confused.
