We were pretty excited when we first heard that Mercedes was cooking up a convertible spin on its AMG GT sports car. But seeing the end result has taken that excitement to an entirely new level.

Available in two versions, the base model punches 469 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. That’s an increase of 13 horses over the 456-hp AMG GT Coupe, as highlighted in a Verge report.

The AMG GT C Roadster, on the other hand, cranks out 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft. The racier model also gets a wider rear end to make room for beefier wheels and an active rear-axle steering system borrowed from the AMG GT R, which enables the rear wheels to turn independently from those up front.

Both of the convertible AMG GT Roadsters are offered with either a black, beige, or red fabric roof.

Pricing? Well, we’ll have to wait till closer to the fall of 2017, when the car is expected to go on sale. But with the AMG GT Coupe’s base price tag coming in right around $111,000, it certainly won’t be cheap.
