Mercedes Badged as Ferrari Is Awful
I do apologize for greeting you with that first photo. Be warned, it doesn’t get much better. This… thing started life as a 1990 Mercedes SL500, and was promptly given a half rate “pimp my ride” treatment via old LCD screens, a body kit, and two tone interior. It goes far beyond a previous MBWorld post about fake AMGs, and takes re-badging all the way to negative eleven.
I was able to look past the body kit, and the interior which looks like a Ferrari gift shop. I was even able to look past the TV screens that weigh down the sun visors beyond usability (and the one on the center roll hoop that you can see through the rear view mirror), but I may have lost composure when my eyes fell upon “petite LeMans style lighting” — WTAF does that even mean?!?
I’m conflicted if I actually want this Craiglist offering to sell, or if the current owner should put up with their own automotive crimes. I think we can all agree to be happy that this fad is over, but we are reminded every now and then when we have to clean up a mess like this.
