Mercedes Building 4×4 Version of 6×6

I’m not sure who thought the Mercedes G63 6×6 was a great idea, but it definitely was. It gave the world some hope that all wasn’t lost. That insanity still reigned supreme in a world that’s more eco-friendly than ever before. That’s not to say some of the technology that’s come out of the movement is inherently a bad thing, but there still needs to be a set of conveyances that defy convention, and in this case, logic and physics.

So Mercedes is cooking up another ridiculous truck, but it’s a bit smaller than the 6×6 … not by much, though. This is the Mercedes G63 4×4.

I know what you’re saying: “Mercedes already has a 4×4 version of the G63”. That truck, though, is not the same as this one. This is a 4×4 version of the beefed-up, military-grade 6×6. It has the lifted suspension, the bigger wheels and tires, enhanced fender flares, and a front roof extension we saw on the 6×6, but in the traditional five-door body. In other words, it’s a more useable 6×6, but has all the same capabilities.

Granted, when this vehicle goes on sale, it will likely never see a desert, a river, or a mound of mud that it so rightfully needs. Rather, it will become a status tool for the über rich and attention-seeking celebs who already have G63s. Nevertheless, it does offer hope that there is still a sliver of insanity throughout the car world.
