The rugged G-Wagen just turned 35 years old, and it doesn’t look a day over 50. For its birthday, however, Mercedes has cooked up a limited batch called the “35 Edition”. You just have to love the Germans and their wacky names.

The G-Class 35 Edition will come in only three colors: black, white and gray. It will have gloss-black bumpers, smoked headlights and a special limited-edition set of five-spoke alloy wheels. Not only that, but the special edition will also come standard with the Chrome Package and Sport Package, because you can’t have too much bling in your sports truck, right?

The interior is slightly modified with a few AMG bits thrown in, and Mercedes’ latest-generation infotainment console.

Benz will offer two engine options: a 3.0L diesel and a 5.5L petrol-powered V8, both good for around 400 lb-ft of torque, but differing in horsepower with 211 and 387, respectively.

The G-Class 35 Edition will go on sale in Germany in the next few weeks, and will only be available until the end of May 2015. No word yet on whether the U.S. will be getting any of these special editions.
