Mercedes Introduces Confounding S63 4MATIC Cabriolet 130 Edition From AMG

Mercedes-AMG S-Class Cabrio (A217) 2016

At this year’s Detroit auto show, Mercedes launched a brand new special edition of the S63 Cabriolet. In commemoration of Mercedes’ very first car (and the invention of the automobile), which was 130 years ago, Mercedes-AMG now gives us the S63 4MATIC Cabriolet 130 Edition.

The special edition S63 will only come in Alubeam Silver, contrasting Bordeaux Red Fabric Roof, and matte black 20-inch, 10-spoke aluminum wheels. It has to be one of the ugliest combinations known to mankind. But wait, it gets worse. The interior has been finished off in Bengal Red Nappa Leather, piano black lacquered wood treatments, and Bengal Red Floor mats. Because… we have no idea.

Only 130 units will be sold when the special edition begins its very limited run starting in April. According to Mercedes, the price of the S63 4MATIC Cabriolet 130 Edition will sell for around $246,000. It will also come with a tailor-made car cover that says “protect this valuable vehicle from dust in the garage.”

So, any takers?
