Mercedes-Maybach Battles Bentley in New Motor Trend ‘Head 2 Head’
In the world of ultra-luxurious automobiles, the Bentley and Maybach badges have been luring the world’s richest buyers for decades. Now for 2015 there is a new model for each of these storied marques, and Motor Trend has put them against each other in a proper “Head 2 Head.” The video below sees the new Bentley Mulsanne Speed face off against the new Mercedes-Maybach.
Since these are not your average cars, the review is far from your average car review. Jonny Leiberman takes the reigns for this one, and most of the review revolves around the exteriors of the cars and the back seats. Jonny gives both of these rolling barges a quick once over from the cockpit, but then with a “chauffer” behind the wheel. While in the back Jonny takes a look at passenger comfort, cabin quality, and of course the ever important champagne solutions.
The end result sees the win handed over to the Bentley, but I think they made the wrong decision. The Bentley has far less luxury amenities in the rear, and the seat looks far less comfortable. Jonny also says the Bentley has a ride that is a bit harsher and a cabin that is not as quiet.
Even though they picked the wrong winner, the video is still worth a watch. There are some pretty fun gags that are definitely worth it.
