Mercedes Pullman Maybach Caught Testing at the ‘Ring

I personally love spy shots. Some people say that you can’t see anything of the car because of the camo or the cladding. Utter BS. The lines still come through; you just need to know how to look. What it also does is signal that the rumors you all have been talking about for the last 10 months are true and coming closer to debuting.

For instance, we know Mercedes pulled the plug on Maybach after some of the worst sales in history. We also know they want to resurrect the nameplate again, except they want to make it even fancier than before and command a whopping million for the luxurious car.

We’ve seen a couple mules around, but none in action before … that is, until this week where one was captured in the wilds of the Nürburgring.

Here’s the thing, though. When you are making a luxury million-dollar limo for the über wealthy, is the best place to test at the ‘Ring? Sure, the people who owned the Grosser all had access to some sort of air force, and probably needed to get out of situations quickly, but most just want the most epically beautiful ride you can have. For a million bucks I’d better get that ride quality I want.

The car is rumored to go by the name “Pullman Maybach”, but I think Mercedes will probably just drop the Maybach in fear of anyone taking shots at the last Maybach with this one. It’s actually quite amazing that the engineers can get this pig to go around the ‘Ring so quickly. Stay tuned: Mercedes should be showing this car off later this year.
