The Mercedes S600 Guard is Here to Get You to the Choppa!
When rolling around in a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, most of us plebeians think the person riding in the back or the front is some important diplomat or Russian mobster, or someone with access to an air force. People who generally have enemies, usually … enemies with extreme firepower. So to protect oneself, one needs to armor his/her S-Class. Thankfully, Mercedes has the solution for that.
Dubbed the S600 Guard (don’t you just love that name?), it is a fully bullet-proof version of the S-Class. The glass is four inches thick, the body panels all have steel reinforcements, and of course, there are run-flat tires because everyone knows that if you stop, you’re dead.
The car can withstand a variety of weapons artillery, but my favorite is that it can withstand a grenade. So this car is definitely going to some Middle Eastern, and probably Eastern European clients because I haven’t heard of that many American businessmen coming under RPG or heavy automatic fire lately.
The phrase “like a boss” doesn’t even come close to describing this car. This car is “like a sir”, who might get attacked by rebels. The S600 Guard — seriously, that’s an awesome name — will go on sale in a few weeks and be around $450,000. The cars are built by hand due to the weight and tolerances needed to ensure the occupants’ safety. If I had a choice of this or that hideous new Pullman, this would definitely be the better option. If you are a dictator who needs to get around in both luxury, style, and protection, this is the car for you.
