Mercedes-Benz vehicles will soon be able to out think their drivers when it comes to finding those coveted parking spots while on the run.

The German carmaker has partnered with Bosch to integrate technology that would eventually enable Mercedes vehicles to detect empty spaces and share the info with other nearby Mercedes cars on the hunt for vacant parking spots.

According to Motor Authority, Mercedes vehicles will use ultrasound sensors to identify available spaces, then relay that to a network shared with other Mercedes drivers looking for spaces, as a form of crowd sourcing. Some carmakers, like BMW, are already offering similar systems in their vehicles.

Reportedly, testing for the Mercedes parking system is already underway in the new E-Class, with Mercedes planning to debut the technology sometime in 2017. However, as noted in the report, the efficiency of the system will be determined by how many Mercedes are on the road sharing the information.
