Mercedes Safety And Medical Cars At F1 Season Opener

No one tunes into F1 to watch the safety car come out. But, since the haveto be there–something about um, safety–they might as well be cool to watch. And Mercedes seems to have gotten the memo. The super-car cool of the SLS safety car is plain to see, but the real treat is the C63 AMG medical wagon. Hit the jump for the video of the C63 AMG wagon doing its thing.
As evidence of the top-level design and engineering excellence that these cars come with out of the box, very little is done to the cars in order to perform their duties at the track. In fact, in the SLS, practically nothing is done at all. For the C63 AMG Medical Car, only the addition of a coilover suspension was deemed necessary. Otherwise both these cars are like any other AMG model that you can buy off the showroom floor.
