GAD Modified AMG C63 Breaks Into the 9’s in Quarter Mile Drag

Only an idiot would think that the Mercedes AMG C63 Black Series is a slow car, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be improved. Take, for example, the GAD modified C63 in the video below.

When GAD announced this car, back in 2013, they sold it with an M157 twin-turbo V8 that had been turned up to 850 horsepower and 995 pounds of twist. All that power is sent to each corner via way of a Mercedes 4Matic AWD system. A modified and strengthened MCT automatic handles the handoff between the motor and the wheels.

The car was quoted to be good for a 0-200 kph run of 8.8 seconds, and now we have proof that those numbers are not far off. This short drag video sees the shiny red GAD C63 BS tear down the drag strip and cross the quarter-mile mark in the nine-second range, with a trap speed of 229.16 kph. That is 142 mph for those of you who follow the imperial system.

I wish the video was a bit longer, as that angry bellow emanating from the back of this C63 is incredible, and I could do with hearing it for a bit more than nine seconds.

Still, this is good stuff, especially since this isn’t some stunt run by GAD. This is a GAD modified car that is owned by a member of our very own MB World forums. A big congrats goes out to dbasons55 for breaking that 10-second barrier with this monster of a daily driver.
