New E-Class Spied Without Camo
The current E-Class sedan has been on sale since 2010. And while that doesn’t sound like a very long time, considering some other cars within the market have been on sale for over 10 years, for Mercedes, it’s a long time coming for the next generation.
In 2014, the E-Class did receive a refresh that brought the luxury sedan more in line with the rest of the company’s design architecture. But while Mercedes introduced the refreshed E-Class, the company has also been hard at work building the next generation on a brand new modular platform.
Spied testing by our friends at Motor Authority, the new E-Class sedan looks a lot like its baby brother, the new C-Class. Both have the same swoopy, droopy lines that almost appear as if the car is melting in the hot sun. In addition to the new looks, the E-Class will receive a host of engine options, including an AMG option. It will also have a new 9-speed automatic transmission that will offer drivers the ultimate smooth ride.
The new E-Class is set to debut next month at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show so stay tuned.
