New Mercedes-AMG GT Variant Spied

The Mercedes-AMG GT is probably the best looking car that Merc has produced since the original SL arrived before my birth. Take that sexy shape and cram a thumping V8 under the hood and you have a magic recipe for awesome. But that doesn’t mean the car is perfect. Any car can always be a little more powerful, a little more planted, a little bit faster. Mercedes agrees with this, and now we have proof that they are using that mentality to upgrade the GT.

It’s the same swirly camouflage we’re used to seeing on GT cars in the wild, but just take a little closer look and you can tell this one’s different. The nose is bigger, a massive front splitter hangs from its lip, the fenders look bulged, and there is a buffet sized wing sitting over the ass end. Mercedes bosses already said that there would be a Black Edition GT, and it seems that it may be showing up earlier than expected.

Another potential scenario is that this is a racing version in the vein of the various GT3 cars that have been arriving, like the Porsche GT3 RS and Aston Martin GT3 GT12. Regardless of what badge it wears, expect it to be more powerful, lighter, and faster than the current GT-S.
