New Mercedes-AMG C63 R Coupe Spied Growling Around the ‘Ring

Guess what was spotted pulling off some insanely fast-flying laps on the Nürburgring?

Yup, this winged, blue beast, which most expect will be badged as the AMG C63 R Coupe, is poised to take over the spot once held by Mercedes’ old Black Series, as highlighted in an Autoblog report.

Clearly, one of the most distinctive features on the new coupe is that super-sized rear wing that flanks high above the rear. The potential Black Series replacement also has a black trunk lid, which leads the folks at Autoblog to believe that the roaring new coupe will use carbon fiber to help reduce weight.

Power is expected to come from a higher-output variant of Mercedes’ 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8, somewhere short of 500 hp. And based on that roar you hear in the video below, it seems pretty certain that the new AMG will have a deviously wicked exhaust setup as well.
