Photos of the Week: Wanton Wagon
It’s time to celebrate the rarity that is a Benz-badged five-door harbinger of burnt rubber. Just a few days back, member Z_de_Suisse managed to squeeze a lovely, bone-stock, E63 AMG station wagon into his estate. How’s that for a wagon pun?
You’ll see why I said “squeeze” into his estate. His collection currently consists of a 1999 Lotus Elise 111s MK1, a 1994 Lancia Delta Integrale Evolution 2, a 1998 BMW Z3 M Roadster, a 2004 Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, and last, but not even close to least, an SL55 AMG.
It’s also worth mentioning that the owner has every intention of sticking with stock. Why fix what ain’t broken? With 514 horsepower, a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph, there’s not much “broken” with this estate. Well, perhaps my heart is just a tiny bit broken over the fact that this estate isn’t parked at my estate.
