Porsche and MB share a lot of history
In 1923 Ferdinand Porsche went to work for Mercedes-Benz at 48 years old. During his time there he designed the eternally cool Mercedes-Benz SSK. To put it simply, the machine was beast. Powered by a supercharged 7 liter straight-six, it made 500lb-ft of torque and was capable of 120 mph. It was incredibly fast and won all kinds of races.
Eventually Porsche left to build his own empire, but that certainly didn’t mark the end of their involvement. Mercedes’ E500 was also a Porsche creation.
