Cars that are older than most MBworld staffers always get our attention, and this one is no exception. Made for European time/distance rally racing (and calling back to vintage Mercedes rally livery), this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 280CE has all the needed equipment to go. As evidenced by the entry stickers in both rear quarter windows, the car has participated in dozens of events and has been made into a reliable runner.

Priced at just under $25,000 USD, it comes equipped with period-correct Recaro seats, Cibie aux lights, rear stone guards with the Mercedes-Benz star, and excellent 16-inch Rial mesh wheels. Not much is said by Bring A Trailer about the engine, aside from being in reliable and original condition, which we can believe given the condition of the rest of the car.

Vintage Mercedes cars such as these still haven’t seen a dramatic adjustment for prices in the market, which speaks for the relatively low price. Could it make for an interesting investment? If you’re inclined, the car is for sale in Germany, and you’ll be sure to have a one of a kind.
