Spied: 2017 Mercedes E-Class Wagon

e-class wagon 2

Now that we’ve seen what the new E-class will look like, the styling of this hardly-covered E-class wagon is not really going to cause much sensation. That said, it is the first time we are seeing some of the details of the rear end of the car, with a slightly smaller, and more curved rear window than in previous models, echoing the new GLC styling. Similarly, the tail lights look similar to those outfitted to the GLC.

Engine and drivetrain options will be similar to what the sedan offers, with the 2.0 turbo four cylinder and 3.0 turbo V6 being the initial offerings. Those would likely be badged as E300 and E43 respectively. It’ll be unlikely to find an E-class wagon without 4-matic all-wheel drive, and Mercedes’ familiar 9-speed automatic will be the only transmission on tap. In terms of other power plants, diesels and hybrids are rumored to come to the States as well. The tasty E63 wagon is also in the works, but won’t debut until a later date, after the main course is served.
