Classic Mercedes-Benz motor cars are starting to become a really cool way of showing off one’s engineering skills. The chassis is fairly good, and the interior is about as plush as one can get. Plus, you really can’t beat the drop-dead gorgeous exterior.
However, where those old Mercs fall short is in the engine compartment. Sure, the engine will never die, but that’s because you’ll practically be standing still.
This swap fixes all that.
Where the old, wheezing, loping, boring engine once was, there is now a twin-turbo Toyota-sourced 1JZ. This swap comes to us from forum member JTY, and judging from the fitment and work needed to make this swap happen, it looks positively epic.
