Tuned Mercedes E55 AMG Stomps 600-hp Nissan
I don’t know why I’m just finding out how awesome the E55 AMG is, but I’m sure involved in a crash course love affair lately.
Between the supercharged engine and the ballistic tunes, it’s hard to believe that I haven’t seen more E55 AMG’s on the street. Maybe they’re all in a ditch because people couldn’t control the wild beast of an engine?
The video below is just another reason I’m falling in love with the E55. It’s from a drag race event a few years ago pitting a tuned Nissan 300ZX (with a supposed 594 horsepower) against a tuned E55 AMG. No word on the horsepower figure, but judging from the way she eats up track, it’s probably quite substantial.
Got to love that the guy signaling is on his cell phone while trying to start the race. The Nissan looks to have it, but then the E55 AMG starts reeling him in. By the end, both cars are neck and neck.
Shame they didn’t post times or tell us who actually won, although it does appear that the E55 took the checkered flag at the end. Either way, she definitely took my heart.
