Weistec Tunes SLR McLaren, Lights the World on Fire
Sweet, merciful, baby Jesus. That’s all you can think after watching the video below. Nothing Mercedes, or AMG, or any of the German manufacturers are producing right now can hold a candle to Weistec Engineering’s SLR McLaren supercar. Stock, the SLR McLaren was an animal, like a cross between a Wookie and a Star Destroyer. The Weistec-tuned SLR McLaren, well that’s the Death Star with Darth Vader at the helm. It’s a planet destroyer of biblical proportions.
This is all thanks to a new twin-turbocharged setup that Weistec has engineered specifically for the SLR McLaren platform. In total, the SLR McLaren now makes over 922 horsepower and 810lb-ft of torque… to the wheels! Just for those playing our game at home, that’s more horsepower than the McLaren P1 GTR. And this is still road legal.
To achieve this, Weistec threw a virtual laundry list of upgrades at the SLR McLaren, including new twin-turbos, new muffler, new sleeved block, new forged pistons and rods, new CNC ported heads, new ECU tune, upgraded transmission, and, for added effect, they topped it off with race gas. Now it’s ready to rip your head off, and we desperately want to drive it.
