For those uninitiated in Mercedes history, AMG was once an outside tuner founded by former Mercedes engineers who built things like the mad Hammer before being bought and brought in under the Mercedes fold. This 1990 Mercedes AMG 560SEC 6.0 Wide Body, however, was before that time, and makes this AMG a truly special car indeed.

This 560SEC 6.0 is said to be only one of six made to this specification. And this specific series was only manufactured for the Japanese market, again making it one truly rare and valuable car. Like its Hammer cousin, the 560SEC 6.0 uses the same V8 engine from the Hammer and produces 375 horsepower.

Currently located in San Diego, California, it’s up for sale on eBay. And it passes the U.S. sniffer test of being over 25-years-old, so the car has an issueless U.S. registration and title. The problem with this piece of German history and power is it’s going to cost you a cool $139,000. However for that price, you’ll get to say you own a very special AMG.
