Wimmer Kicks the Tires and Lights the Fires on the New C63 S AMG Wagon

Even though I’m not yet a fan of the new C63 S’s engine, I am a fan at how easy it is to make enormous amounts of power using relatively simple methods. According to Wimmer, they’ve tuned a brand new C63 S AMG estate wagon to over 631 horsepower.

Apparently, all the car needed to get an extra 130 horsepower was a reflash, a sports exhaust, and a cat system. That’s it. We all know that turbocharged cars come from the factory both underrated, and extremely under-stressed, and that’s how Wimmer accessed this extra horsepower, by freeing up the engine’s calibration.

The C63 S that Wimmer chose is the perfect showcase for today’s ridiculous power wars. Just think about this for a second: a 631-horsepower twin-turbocharged Mercedes station wagon. In the past, it probably would have been a diesel. But now, it’s a fire breathing lunatic.

What’s even better is that 631 horsepower isn’t even close to what this car can put down, and it seems that Wimmer is aiming to find out just how much they can turn the wick up. Stay tuned!
