Gas Cap warning light..keeps coming on, anyone else had this problem?
Since i have owned the car, the gas cap warning light comes on, where the everything goes red and beeps, very irritating, especially when i go to check my gas cap and it is perfectly fine!, then the engine check light comes on and i can't get rid of it until i take my car to the dealership. They can't find a problem.
Anyway one else had this issue? if so how was it fixed?

We had this prob. with my wife's SLK. New cap from MB fixed it.
On the other hand, your E cannot be fixed. Just give it to me, I'll live with the problem. I'm here to help.

Yes, I had the same problem. I smelled gas too. First they wanted to make sure my gas cap was secure. Afterwards, they found a leak in the fuel system. Fixed after second attempt (they couldn't find it the first time) - no further problems.
