02 c320 battery drain problem

i have an 02 c320, i was gonna sell it a while back but decided to keep it, like it to much lol, well anyway on to my problem, I have some sort of parisitic draw that is draining my battery. if i dont start it every few hours it will go dead enough it wont start or overnight, will go completely dead.
i took it to the local benz,bmw shop they couldnt find it, told me some options, and charged me $400 , anyway i took it home did some searching read some threads on what other people had problems with, such as rear seat light coming on, starter drain, bad alternator, ect. I replaced the alternator, under the advice or a mechanic. it was bad (voltage regulator), put new one on still has drain problem.

2 other issues that have arrisen as a result of this. when my battery died, my sunroof does the 1 inch back at a time deal typical of disconecting a battery, and my rear shade wont go up and down. where is the fuse located for this because i would like to check that. and is there anyway for me to reset the sunroof and not have to take it to a dealer?

thanks guys

Exclamation Power seat is likely culprit

I have seen a lot of problems with the full power seat option draining the battery (I think it is standard equipment on a C320) -- search the forum for this topic.

steve;

You are so on. This happened to me. Their is a motor, or relay (likely from the power seats) staying in the on position. Your MBZ dealer should have been able to measure the amount of drain in milliamps. Compared it to the stock measurement and gotten closer to the diagnosis.

i have had the drain measured before a couple weeks ago and it was a good amount more than it should be, i will do some searching and check the seat deal, are these expensive to replace?

Battery Drain

Your Tech guy should be pulling out fuses one at a time while checking the drain to find the problem area. Good Luck

I had this problem and it was concluded that my passenger power seat mod was the problem had it replaced and never looked backed.
Good luck I hope everything works out.

Is this the problem for all of these problems becuase these problems are exactly what is wrong with my car. The shop has i right now and have no *******g idea what they are doing. I sent it in with power steering problems on monday and air conditioning poping noise (syncing vent problem) and they said the power steering was making the poping noise. After replacing the problem and me telling them what was wrong they realized that i was right and there still was a air conditioning problem.

To top this off, they started the car this morning and found the battery was dead and realized they needed to fix this problem that i asked them to last trip to the shop. So its thursday and still no car with $600 for power steering pump and 500-1000 for A/C and what $1400 for the battery problem. Sorry im just venting this anger but its like a week and 3 Gs later and no car.

I replaced my battery and my sunroof did the same inching along thing... you can reset it by either fully closing it and holding the button in the closed position for a few seconds, or open it all the way and hold the button open for a few seconds. It should reset itself and hopefully run normal again!
