Exclamation Tachometer failure -

I was wondering how to begin pin-pointing the reason for why the tach on a '84 190e 2.3L is not working at all. I am not sure if it is mechanical or electrical for this car. I am hoping it is an easy fix like a relay or fuse or such.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Everything else works though right? My brother pulled his cluster because his meter was not working and to no avail did he find anything loose or anything. The speedometer, oil, temp, gas, and clock all work, just no tachometer.

Fuse #9 if I'm not mistaken for the instrument cluster if everything else isn't working.

The only other thing not working is the outside temperature. Could there be a defective relay that is working for some guages and not the others?

Red
Electromagnetic clutch engine fan, emission control, washer nozzle heater, tach, cruise control, outside mirror, temp gauge outside, (seat heating front)

But no cigar.
