Checking Power Steering Fluid...how to?

Hi all...just curious how to check the power steering fluid on my 1991 190 E 2.3...

In the manual I found the location of the power steering pump...there is a big cannister with a black knob on top with bi-directional arrows...dont know how to turn it to check the fluid.

Nothing wrong...just thought with 211K miles I ought to look at it

Np problem...I checked the fluid

Counter clockwise twist of the mysterious black knob allowed me to take the cap off the power steering resivoir...its a bit down on fluid but not too bad.

Love the construction of this power steering resivior...felt like it came off an Me-109!
